Cajun Thing of the Week and Happy 2010!

Today is the very first day of 2010! Time for fresh starts, resolutions, and a brand-spanking new year.

I don't have much time for posting today, as I am working on a New Year's dinner of Steen's Cane Syrup-glazed ham, blackeyed peas, sauteed cabbage, and mashed potatoes. If you're from the South, you know that you must partake of blackeyed peas and some form of greens on New Year's, as they will supposedly bring you luck and money in the coming year.

Just in time for New Year's Day, this week's Cajun Thing of the Week is the custom of the √©trenne, which I posted about back in December of 2008. Enjoy! Cajun Thing of the Week - √Čtrenne

Here's hoping that all of my dear readers have a happy and prosperous new year.

I am planning some fun things for First, Make a Roux in 2010, including a site redesign and some cool foodie giveaways, so please come back and visit!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
